What is the Gospel?
The gospel is good news to all people who’s lives are broken and marred by sin. Sin is everything that falls short of God’s perfection and His best for our lives. Sin has caused separation from the God who made us and loves us and is the reason for death itself.
God gave us a solution to this sin and death problem, the gift of His Son Jesus. Jesus says, “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” At the cross, the sins of the world were crucified with Jesus and He died in our place. But Jesus did not stay in the grave! God conquered sin and death by raising Jesus to life.
This victory over sin and death is offered freely to anyone who chooses to believe and follow Jesus. The gospel is abundant life in Jesus, right relationship with God, joy in the midst of hardship, a song in your heart, the power to find freedom from the bondages that are breaking lives, and the hope of heaven.
